Each lot in the auction has a clearly marked bidding window. Once you are registered, you can bid in a few ways:

Max Bid : Enter the maximum amount you wish to bid and click “Place Bid.” You’ll be taken to a confirmation screen to either “Confirm Bid” or “Cancel Bid.” If you’re not logged in, you’ll need to do so before confirming your bid. By confirming, you are entering a legally binding contract to pay for your successful bids, plus the applicable buyer’s premium and taxes.

Real-Time Bidding : Bid in real time as each lot closes, similar to live auctions. You will need to bid and confirm your bid for each increment, repeating the same steps as above without disclosing your maximum bid.

Proxy Bidding : If you cannot bid in real time, you can arrange for proxy bidding through Tweed Auctions before the auction starts. A deposit may be required. Provide a list of lots you’d like to bid on and your maximum price for each. Your prices will remain confidential, and an “Up To” bid will be placed on your behalf. After the auction, you will receive an email with your invoice for any lots you won. Invoices must be paid in full before pick-up, and a link will be provided to schedule your pick-up.

This is called a “soft close” or bid extension. If a bid is placed within the last two minutes before a lot closes, an additional two minutes will be added. This continues until no more bids are placed within the final two minutes.

Once a lot has closed and the auction is complete, you will receive an email from Tweed Auctions confirming that you’ve won, along with details on how to pay and schedule your pick-up.

We offer shipping arrangements for select auction items. Shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility and will be added to your invoice. For larger or delicate items, local pickup may be required. Please contact us to discuss shipping options and fees before bidding to ensure a smooth transaction.

After the auction, you will receive an email explaining the payment terms and pick-up schedule. You can use the provided link to schedule your pick-up time or contact Tweed Auctions to arrange it. Please do not arrive without a scheduled pick-up time.

No, by placing a bid at Tweed Auctions, you enter into a binding contract to pay for and remove your items. This is outlined in the Terms and Conditions, which you must review and accept before registering. If you win an item and fail to pay, you will be permanently banned from future auctions.

Once the auction is complete and you’ve won, you’ll receive an email with payment instructions. Tweed Auctions accepts credit cards with a 2% surcharge (up to $15,000), as well as debit, certified checks, cash, e-transfer, and wire transfer. For safety reasons, we do not keep your credit card on file. Please arrange payment with Tweed Auctions.
